Now, as a big Broadway musical, The Producers once again sets the standard for modern, outrageous, in-your-face humor. The plot is simple: a down-on-his-luck Broadway producer and his mild-mannered accountant come up with a scheme to produce the most notorious flop in history, thereby bilking their backers (all "little old ladies") out of millions of dollars. Only one thing goes awry: the show is a smash hit!

Walk On: The Story of Rosa Parks

Tuesday, February 18, 2020 - 10:00 AM
Grades 4-8
The tremors of an earthquake were rumbling across America. A new kind of music was making its first appearance on the radio and parents were outraged. While the rhythms of rock and roll were shaking the social fabric of the country, deep down an even more important transformation was about to take place. In Montgomery, Alabama, a determined activist named Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on a city bus. The resulting uproar launched the Civil Rights movement and changed our country forever.
Walk On: The Story of Rosa Parks weaves together music and drama to tell the story of Rosa Parks from her childhood in rural Alabama to her famous decision to "sit down and be counted." The play dispels myths about Parks and her protest as it paints a portrait of complex woman who had to find reconciliation within herself in order to become an effective Civil Right leader. Exciting and inspirational,
Walk On: The Story of Rosa Parks shows how the determination of one individual made all the difference in the struggle for freedom and equality in the United States.

A rousing, bawdy Southern fairy tale from the Pulitzer Prize-winning author of Driving Miss Daisy! The score is meant to be played by a small band onstage - and it's one of the only genuine bluegrass scores ever heard in a Broadway musical. Set in 18th-century Mississippi, the show follows Jamie Lockhart, a rascally robber of the woods, as he courts Rosamund, the only daughter of the richest planter in the country. The proceedings go awry, however, thanks to a case of double-mistaken identity.
