Take a Monday night to enjoy a nostalgic journey down memory lane. with the movies that played an integral role in the history of The Ritz.  Grand movie palaces were built with great excess including elaborate interior design, conditioned air and the incredible ambiance that became an important part of the movie-going experience. Built in 1928 to capture the huge demand for “talkies,” The Ritz Theatre became “the” place to see movies in Tiffin.  Take a Monday evening to enjoy a nostalgic journey down memory lane with the movies that played an integral role in the history of The Ritz.

February 15, 2027 – Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)

Mortimer Brewster (Cary Grant), a Brooklyn writer of books on the futility of marriage, risks his reputation after he decides to tie the knot. Things grow complicated when he learns that his beloved maiden aunts Abby (Josephine Hull) and Martha (Jean Adair) are serial murderers. The film also stars Priscilla Lane and Raymond Massey.

March 22, 2027 – I am a Fugitive from a Chain Gang (1932)

A World War I veteran (Paul Muni) and aspiring engineer tries to re-enter civilian life. After being unwillingly caught up in a robbery, he suffers the intolerable conditions of a Southern chain gang, struggling to clear his name and prove his worth.  The film also stars Glenda Farrell ad Helen Vinson.

April 12, 2027 – Vertigo (1958)

A former San Francisco police detective (James Stewart) juggles wrestling with his personal demons and becoming obsessed with the hauntingly beautiful woman he has been hired to trail, who may be deeply disturbed.  The film also stars Kim Novak and Barbara Bel Geddes.

May 17, 2027 – Bringing Up Baby (1938)

While trying to secure a $1 million donation for his museum, a befuddled paleontologist (Cary Grant) is pursued by a flighty and often irritating heiress (Katharine Hepburn) and her pet leopard, Baby.
