BUYER BEWARE!

We’ve been seeing a lot of Facebook posts and internet ads for people or companies advertising tickets for sale for Ritz Theatre performances.  Websites like EventTicketCenters.com are resale marketplaces, prices are usually above face value.  EventTicketsCenter.com mentions this at the very top of their webpages.

Not long ago, someone came to the theatre to see the Ritz Players production of Steel Magnolias. This person bought two tickets online from a source other than The Ritz Theatre box office.  This person was promised “good seats.”    He paid $80 each for them, which included the price of the ticket and fees.  The Ritz Theatre’s price for tickets to Steel Magnolias was $16 each.  This person received seats in the 30th row, even though very good seats were available much closer to the stage. This person gave the website selling the tickets their home address, phone number, email address and credit card number.

In December, someone bought 6 $40 tickets for the sold-out Nutcracker performance.  This person paid nearly $1200.

Someone came in Saturday, May 17.  He paid over $350 for two tickets to The Glenn Miller Orchestra performance.  He never got his tickets, and the tickets to that show were only $35.

When someone shows up with these overpriced tickets, they question the Box Office staff, and often ask for a refund. We can not refund money we don’t have.

Please, please, please…only buy your tickets from The Ritz Theatre Box Office by calling 419.448.8544, using our website at ritztheatre.org, or by stopping by the box office at 30 South Washington Street, Tiffin.  It is open Monday-Friday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.  This is the only way to guarantee you will get the best seats available at the best price.
